When you are moving to New York from Toronto, you will have to cross over into the United States. What paperwork you will need will vary depending on how you ship your goods and whether or not you are bringing your car with you. If you are shipping your goods unaccompanied, you will be required to file CBP Form 3299 - Declaration for Free Entry of Unaccompanied Articles (Unaccompanied Goods) with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and attach a full inventory of what is on the truck to the form.
You will want to ensure that everyone traveling with you has valid passports. Once the form is filled out at the end of the calculator, there is a window that displays cu ft, i.e., you can immediately see how many cubic feet there are. This form is sent to the office and is calculated by the formula.
After determining the amount of space your belongings will need within the trailer, we will then provide you with an estimated cost to move based on your needs.
